Dr. David Kinniburgh is a certified clinical chemist (American Board of Clinical Chemistry) and a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Clinical Biochemists.  Dr. Kinniburgh is an Adjunct Professor with the Department of Physiology and Pharmacology, in the Cumming School of Medicine at the University of Calgary, and a Clinical Professor with the Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology at the University of Alberta.  He is the Director of the Alberta Centre for Toxicology at the University of Calgary and has more than 45 years' experience in laboratory medicine, including laboratory technology, clinical chemistry, toxicology, human biomonitoring and laboratory management. He is the current Secretary for the IFCC Executive Board, and Treasurer for the Alberta Association of Clinical Laboratory Doctoral Scientists.
